We are pleased to announce that in mid-April 2008, we began providing external beam radiation therapy from facilities located at 6380 Clark Avenue at Dublin Boulevard, Dublin, in the northeast comer of the 580/680 interchange. Patients now have easy, local access to the same high quality and caring radiation oncology service we have provided to the region for over 25 years. Our commitment to providing state-of-the-art care locally to the communities of Dublin, Pleasanton, San Ramon and Livermore is being achieved with the opening of the Dublin Treatment Center.

In addition to radiation therapy, the center at Clark Avenue will offer a full range of oncology services including medical oncology, infusion, and PET/CT imaging delivered by EPIC Care, along with other cancer support functions.

The facility brings state-of-the-art Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) using a new Elekta high-energy linear accelerator. This new technology allows us to take daily low exposure CT scans of a patient on the treatment table, just prior to a treatment, for precise alignment of the target tumor in the radiation beam, adapting to any change in a patient’s tumor and anatomy. IGRT can be coupled with Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), in which numerous pencil-shaped beams are used to precisely target tumors while avoiding normal tissues. Together, these technical innovations permit sub-millimeter precision to best eradicate tumors and still preserve normal tissue function that is especially important in brain, head and neck, lung, and prostate treatments.

We will have the ability to use PET /CT scans directly for radiation therapy planning.

Also, respiratory-gated therapy will be available for selected lung, upper abdominal and left breast cancer patients for optimal sparing of adjacent organs that move with respiration.

From Castro Valley, San Leandro, Oakland, or Hayward:
Take I-580 E. Exit SAN RAMON RD/ FOOTHILL RD. Turn left onto SAN RAMON RD over I-580 and get in right lane. Turn RIGHT onto DUBLIN BLVD. and drive 0.9 mi. Turn RIGHT into driveway just before CLARK AVE to 6380.
From San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, or Walnut Creek:
Take I-680 S toward SAN JOSE. Take I-580 E exit toward LIVERMORE/ STOCKTON. Stay in right lane for quick exit. Exit DUBLIN BLVD. Turn RIGHT onto AMADOR PLAZA RD. Turn RIGHT onto DUBLIN BLVD. and go 0.4 mi. Turn RIGHT into driveway just before CLARK AVE. to 6380.
From Pleasanton, Livermore, or Tracy:
Take I-580 W toward OAKLAND. Take the HOPYARD RD/ DOUGHERTY RD exit. Turn RIGHT onto DOUGHERTY RD. Turn LEFT onto DUBLIN BLVD. and go 0.5 mi. Turn LEFT onto CLARK AVE. Turn RIGHT into first or second driveway to 6380.
From South Pleasanton, Sunol, and Fremont:
Take I-680 N toward SACRAMENTO. Take the I-580 E exit toward LIVERMORE/STOCKTON. Take the exit toward HOPYARD RD/ DOUGHERTY RD. Turn LEFT onto DOUGHERTY RD and drive over I-580. Turn LEFT onto DUBLIN BLVD. and go 0.5 mi. Turn LEFT onto CLARK AVE. Turn RIGHT into first or second driveway to 6380.
